The Lakes Of England

This book is a comprehensive guide to the scenic beauty of England’s Lake District, a landscape famous for its panoramic views of mountains, valleys, tarns, and lakes, and a variety of wildlife. The poetic sensibility and romantic vision that the author brings to his descriptions of the landscape places this work within the tradition of the Romantic movement in English literature. As with the great Romantic poets, the author captures the grandeur and beauty of the natural world, as well as the sense of the sublime that a view of nature can inspire.

As a response to the growing popularity of tourism in the Lake District, the book provides detailed information on how to appreciate and navigate the region, its footpaths, and its attractions. The book gives insights into its literary and artistic heritage with references to poets like Wordsworth and Coleridge, and the painter J.M.W. Turner, all of whom were inspired by the scenery of the Lake District.

This book will appeal to nature lovers, hikers, travellers, tourists, and lovers of English literature and the Romantic movement.
