Description
Virgil – The Eclogues
Virgil’s Eclogues (also known as the Bucolics) is a collection of ten pastoral poems written between 42 and 37 BCE. They model the Greek style of Theocritus while contrasting the peaceful idealised life of shepherds and nature with the harsh realities of Roman civil war and land confiscations.
