Dorothea Mary Moore was born in Islington in 1880, she became a guider whilst living in Eastbourne in 1918 – 1927, and died in London in 1933. Dorothea wrote 65 novels, of which 23 were school stories. She also wrote children's historical, Ruritanian and adventure stories.
