Description
The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius
Translated and introduced by V E Watts, with a preface by Brian Keenan, one-time captive of ‘terrorists’ in Lebanon, one-time schoolteacher. He picked up Boethius’ ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ and discovered it was a work written in captivity prior to Boethius’ execution. Boethius became known as the ‘school teacher of the West’ and Keenan wonders if Boethius might have something to say to a 20th C school teacher who also knew captivity, though not execution!
